NIAPN members receive a range of information on poverty and social exclusion issues - NEWSLETTERS - The newsletter of the Northern Ireland Anti-Poverty Network – Anti-Poverty News – is produced tri-annually and posted to members
- NIAPN members also receive regular copies of European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) News by post
- Additional regular publications produced by the Network include conference/seminar research reports and policy briefing papers
- The majority of these materials are now downloadable from the NIAPN website
EMAILS - The Network issue weekly emails to members on topical and relevant poverty and social exclusion issues. The Network also issue an annual E-card highlighting the inadequacy of benefit levels and the need to tie them to average earnings; PEANUTS4BENEFITS
POLICY PAPERS NIAPN produce regular policy papers on timely and appropriate policy consultations, such as: - NIAPN Submission to the DRD Water Reform EQIA 2006
- NIAPN Submission to Northern Ireland Budget Priorities
- NIAPN Submission to the DWP proposals for changes to Child Poverty Measurements
- NIAPN Submission on Rates Review
Members have an opportunity to have their voice heard by - - Attending participative consultative events focusing on various aspects of poverty and social exclusion, such as:
- Get Heard workshops focused on the National Action Plans for Social Inclusion, and asked various disadvantaged groups to consider 'Whats Working? What's Not Working? and What needs to be done differently?' (to effectively tackle poverty and social exclusion)
- Consultative seminars and participative workshops commenting on proposals for An Anti-Poverty Strategy for Northern Ireland Phase 1 & 2 (on behalf of the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister OFMDFM)
- Family and Child Poverty participative workshops aimed at identifying the key issues that impact on families experiencing poverty, to inform the development of effective targeted and resourced anti-poverty policies across the UK (carried out on behalf of and in partnership with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation)
Being a member of the Network gives you the opportunity - - to network with other organisations concerned with highlighting the effects of poverty and social exclusion across Northern Ireland
